Nagamaki grind was quite an interesting project, as I was tasked to create a 2D platformer with Skate mechanics. I had some challenges, as for this team I was the only programmer, which meant that great bulk of the project’s code fell on my shoulders. I worked greatly with the other designers in order to understand their vison and requirements. I programmed the entirety of the Physics and movement of the game, using The Unity 3D Platform. I programmed the Grinding mechanic, which allowed the player to grind on structures, allowing for some interesting and rapid movement. I also created the different AI used for the enemies in the game. In the end, the project was a great success, as both the lecturers and Student cohort really enjoyed the product, and awarded us with a good grade.
